Point of impact: Telkom & SAIX ADSL as well as Vodacom 3G users

Symptoms experienced: These customers (e.g. Web Africa, CyberSmart, Vodacom 3G subscribers) would have experienced connectivity issues while trying to access websites and email hosted on MSITs network.

Cause of problem: SAIX-MTN Business peering Link

Estimated time of repair: Resolved

Additional information: We realize that our customers experienced an unacceptably long degradation period. This was due to Telkom and MTN Business engineers battling to find the cause of the problem. MSIT engineers have been monitoring the connection which has been stable for the last 24 hours.
